In conjunction with the special exhibition, "The Colonial Andes:
Tapestries and Silverwork, 1530-1830" at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in
New York, the 35-member Peruvian chorus Lima Triumphante will be making a
concert tour in the United States, presenting Andean music from the vice-regal
era for chorus and baroque chamber ensemble.
Shepherd School instrumentalists will collaborate with Lima Triumphante in this
performance of their tour, in which they will present the North American
premieres of works that display the rich fusion of seventeenth-century European
and Andean cultures.
